We all know about how Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, but sometimes it can also be the most horrible time of the year.
You know what we’re talking about. Gift shopping!
“Oh, I don’t need anything,” your partner says. But you know that isn’t true. Then there are your friends, parents, in-laws, and more. You could ask them what they want, and, if you’re really lucky, they’ll tell you exactly and you can go buy it, but that takes all the romance out of the event and makes it pretty impersonal.
So how do you choose?
Here’s the ultimate gift guide to help you choose something personal and truly special that she will cherish.
Has she created a wish list?
This makes everything easy! Ask our staff to help you choose something from her wish list. Many of our customers have mentioned to our staff that they really like a particular item, and it’s been added to the list. So come in and ask us.
What are her interests?
What are her interests? Make a list of everything that you can think of – cooking, reading, hiking, travelling. Then bring your list into us. We can help you choose something perfect that matches your list - charms to go on a bracelet or necklace, a pendant that includes her favourite coloured stone, a watch that matches her new dress – the list is endless.
Is he into technology?
We have a brand new range of Alpina Smart watches that look incredible. Each watch tracks activity, monitors sleep, has a ‘get active’ alert and connects up to your smart device. It’s the perfect gift for the tech savvy wearer. We also have a range of watch boxes that will automatically wind his watches – they are very cool.
Look to the past or the future
Maybe she has recently graduated – you could give her a beautiful Swarovski pen to use at her new job. Is she planning on travelling next year? We have a wide range of travel related jewellery. Take your ideas from others - one of our customers who wears a silver chain and had a disc engraved with the initials of her mother who had recently passed away. Another customer bought kitten charms to give to her children, as the family received a new kittens for Christmas.
Make it personal
Engraving makes everything special and unique – you could engrave your initials and hers, engrave the names of each of your children, engrave the location of your first date.
Bring the kids in and ask them to choose something special for mum.
Design something unique and talk to our jeweller. We can make you the absolutely perfect one off gift. If you are unsure, you could choose a loose stone (a diamond or coloured stone) and give this to her. After Christmas you could come in together to design her dream piece.
Does she like to be organised?
We have some brand new jewellery boxes with lots of drawers and sliders, and ring cushions. She can have her jewellery organised – a place for everything and everything in it’s place. Some even include a travel case.
Once you’ve chosen your gift wrap it beautifully
You can make your gift even more personal with some special gift wrapping. Ask the kids to make her a special painting and wrap the gift in this, tying it with Christmas ribbon. Wrap the gift using paper or ribbon of her favourite colour. Spend time choosing the perfect card or paper. If you need help, our staff can gift wrap for you.
We have gifts for different types of people, so come in store and we can help you find that special gift for that special person.
