After the dress (and your wedding ring!), your wedding shoes will be one of the biggest considerations of your wedding outfit.
Whether you opt for a traditional white, something colourful, sandals or heels, here are three secrets to choosing wedding shoes that will help you make your wedding day that much easier.
Don’t leave them to last
Ideally, you’ll have your shoes sorted by the time you attend your first dress fitting. As your shoes can change your height by as much as several inches, it’s important to wear them to any fittings so that you and your tailor can alter the dress to suit.
Should you leave them until last, you may run out of time to adjust the dress to the right height for the shoes.
Wear them in
It might feel strange to wear your wedding heels around the house in the weeks leading up to the event, but this is one task that you’ll thank yourself for on the big day.
Even if they’re not particularly high, you might discover spots that are prone to blister on the big day. Wearing them in will help fit your feet to the shoes and show you just where you need to place a Band-Aid in preparation for wearing them all day during your wedding!
Have a back-up pair
No matter how much you want to wear practical shoes during the ceremony and pictures, sometimes the pair that makes you feel like a princess is an absolute must. If you opt for the sky-scraper, stunning and glitzy pair for the photos, be sure to have a comfortable (but still pretty) pair waiting in the wings.
You can switch into these for the dinner and dancing so you can focus on enjoying the night rather than thinking about your sore feet!
