A proposal is the first exciting step to an engagement, the wedding day, and your life together. While it’s very much a time to celebrate your love and pop the question, it’s also a great time to get creative and come up with something memorable.
Consider these romantic and beautiful ideas for your loved one.
Who can say no to a tiny animal?
If you’ve been thinking about adding a puppy or a kitten to your life, you could take this one step further and bring your new pet home with a tag on the collar that reads ‘Will you marry me?’
You can either attach the ring to the collar as well or get down on one knee with the kitten or puppy in your arms for a completely adorable proposal that she will remember forever.
Plus, your new family member will always be a very special reminder of that monumental moment.
A picture is worth a thousand words
When you’d rather spend all your money on the engagement ring and keep the proposal simple, pull out your collection of photos together. You’ll need at least 50, so feel free to include pictures of things that mean something special, such as the place you met or the restaurant you first had dinner together.
Find the place where you plan to propose, and lay out the printed photos to spell ‘Will you marry me?’ either on a clear space on the floor or up on the wall.
This idea is a simple and beautiful way to remember all the great times you’ve had as you look forward to the next very exciting step in your relationship.
Written in the stars
You can’t rearrange the stars, but you can do the next best thing. Pick a special date night and grab a pack or two of glow-in-the-dark stars from the store. Use them to spell out the big question on your roof, either above the bed or in an area where you can reveal them. Simply get down on one knee and ask her to look up!
Just a present
Find a box a little larger than the box your engagement ring comes in. And another box a little larger than that, and another larger than that one. Wrap them all up inside one another, with a cute love note in each layer – a bit like pass the parcel but where she gets to unwrap all the layers and the prize.
When she finally gets down to the last box, the love note will read ‘Will you marry me?’
She will likely figure out what’s happening after a couple of layers, but that will only add to the excitement and build up to the moment.
Smile for the camera
Find one of those old photo booths that snap five photos in a row. Make sure you have a practice run with a friend before you do the real thing, but bring your loved one into the booth for a cutesy series of photos.
Smile in the first, bring up the ring in the second, and let the camera do its work to catch her reaction as you ask her to marry you. You will forever have that beautiful reaction right on camera!
