The big, exciting day has somehow rushed by in a blur and all you want to do is relax – or jet-set off on your romantic honeymoon. You should, of course, take the time to catch up on sleep and rest- but don’t forget the ends that need to be tied up after you’ve tied the knot.
Most brides will have to wait for the professional photographer to pass on photos from the wedding, but as soon as they do, you should aim to share them with your guests.
As much as the day is all about you and your new life partner, your guests also made a big effort to get dressed up and attend. No doubt many of them would love to see the professional images taken on the day, and it’s only fair to share them soon after you get to see them for yourself.
Thank you notes
Thank you notes are an important gesture after a wedding. Again, guests have often made a real effort to attend – some of which will have certainly travelled a distance to be there.
Whether it’s a quick email or a personalised card, it’s important to let them know you were happy they made it, and to thank them for any gifts.
Make a plan for the dress
In the flurry that follows the wedding, it’s easy to put the all-important wedding dress in the back of the cupboard and leave it there.
At some stage after the event, sit down and look at ideas for what to do with your gown. Some brides will plan a ‘trash the dress’ shoot, others will sell it on, some will have it made into something else (such as a quilt or throw pillows), and others again will simply store it for preservation.
