Whether you’ve just become engaged and don’t know where to start, or you’ve got your wedding all mapped out but aren’t sure how to make it all happen, there’s one place you can go to really kick off the entire process: A bridal expo.
The idea of an expo is to bring together all manner of wedding vendors, from dress designers and photographers to venues and florists, and of course, wedding jewellery retailers! Here, brides-to-be and their entourage can tour the stalls and look for inspiration, check out multiple vendors at once and get a much clearer idea of how the big day will come together.
In Australia, the one to visit is Wedding Expos Australia. This bridal expo has been running for more than a decade in major cities around the country including Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne and Adelaide. Each bride-to-be gets a ‘I’m getting married’ bag, which is full of goodies such as a bridal planning diary and free wedding magazines. And best of all, admission to the event is completely free.
There is no limit to the variety of companies showcasing their wares at these events. It’s where you can find the car that will take you to the venue, the venue itself, the catering for the meal, the favours you’ll give guests, the shoes you’ll wear as you walk down the aisle, and the photographer to capture it all. It even has vendors to help you plan your wedding budget and get you in shape for the big day.
Events like these aren’t just practical – they’re an exciting and really fun part of the wedding planning experience. Take along your maid of honour, mum, bridesmaids, or even your soon-to-be hubby and spend a day out planning the biggest day of your life.
