At Hennings, we know everything there is to know about wedding jewellery – including the fact that your jewels aren’t the only accessories you’ll wear down the aisle. Many brides, for example, are adding an extra touch of glamour with a stunning headpiece as part of their wedding outfit.
This is more than just your average veil. A bridal headpiece can be anything from a glam feather adornment to a bohemian string of beads or an elegant floral headband made from crystals and luxurious silk. Depending on your own style and wedding dress, a headpiece could be just what your outfit needs to finish the look and leave you feeling radiant and glowing.
Why we love Amy Oram
One of Hennings’ favourite headpiece designers is a local Australian woman named Amy Oram. With an eye for glamour and a love of both modern and vintage looks, Amy creates unique headpieces for brides around the country.
Working through her company Teeki, Amy works with all manner of beautiful materials such as pressed petals, feathers, and hand-stitched French tulle to create the perfect piece. And if you want to match your headpiece to your wedding shoes, dress, or even jewellery, Amy is a dab hand at creating something just right.
While her true love is couture wedding and bridal pieces, Amy also creates an array of headpieces so you can match your accessories to that of your bridesmaids or other bridal party members.
Dressing the part
When wearing a headpiece to your wedding, consider toning down the jewellery with earring studs or a simple pendant necklace. Large or flashy pieces in the ears or around the neck may compete with the headpiece, when you really want to show it off! You can, however, make a bolder statement with a beautiful bracelet – and of course, show off that stunning new diamond wedding ring!
