Stuck for Valentine’s Day ideas? Try one of these gorgeous dates with your loved one!
1. Take a cooking class
Creating a meal together is a common occurrence for any couple, but you’ll often find yourselves making the same safe recipes again and again.
Sign up for a local cooking class and learn how to make something new together - then enjoy devouring it once you’re done!
2. Games night
When was the last time you played a board game?
There are plenty of old classics and fun new games to try, and you can either play with just the two of you or turn it into a social event with a few other couples. Don’t forget her favourite wine and snacks, and ban Monopoly from the evening to keep things moving!
3. A trip to Hennings Jewellers
It might sound silly, but consider this: Instead of wondering which necklace she might like most for a gift, bring her in and let her choose something special.
Shopping together will create a fun and memorable experience for you both, and you’ll know for a fact that she will absolutely adore her new piece (even if it’s a pair of Sterling Silver Euro Ball earrings rather than a necklace like you’d planned).
As a bonus tip, note down any other items she takes a liking to - you can keep them in mind for upcoming birthdays and anniversaries!
4. Painting night at home
Are you both the crafty sort who love to create things? Head to your local art store and pick up a couple of canvases with paints.
Set up a cute art studio in your home where you face one another so you can’t see what the other person is painting. Add a bottle of wine and some snacks, then spend the evening creating a beautiful surprise for the other person!
5. A photography session
Get all dressed up, hire a professional photographer, and spend a couple of hours posing together. Include plenty of silly shots as well as some loved-up frames, then choose a few of them to get printed onto canvas for your wall at home.
6. Be tourists
It’s often true that tourists see more of your home city than you do. Try exploring your city from a tourist’s perspective for the day - visit all the top sites and take photos together at all the popular spots. It’s likely you probably haven’t done all of these yourself, and it’ll feel like a mini-holiday together without straying far from home!
7. Recreate your first date
How did you two first meet?
Whether it was at a movie with a group of friends or over drinks at a bar, recreate the magic of that first moment you set eyes on one another and spend the night chatting over how far you’ve come - and how far you have to go!
8. Volunteer together
There are plenty of official volunteering opportunities out there, as well as many more you could find just by asking around friends and family. Look for something you can do together that will help someone out or improve your community in some way. You’ll both get a boost from doing something selfless and it’ll make for great bonding time together.
9. Be adventurous
Fancy something truly crazy? Pack a day bag and head to the airport - then get on the next available domestic flight, wherever it’s going.
There’s no way of knowing where you might end up or what you might do there, but finding out together and exploring a new place is all part of the fun!
10. Treasure hunt
Set up a treasure hunt around your house, your local park, or even your favourite city area! Use clues that link to your time together such as ‘location of your first kiss’, or ‘favourite coffee shop’, and ensure the final clue leads to somewhere romantic where you can spend some time together.
You might even consider a prize at the end of the hunt, such as this romantic diamond double heart pendant to symbolise your love and unbreakable connection.
